A project collecting the views of Looked After Children, Foster Carers and Professionals in Thurrock

We have had another year of successes for the residents of Thurrock, where real face to face engagement and listening to what people have told us about the services they use has resulted in some real changes.

Through anecdotal discussion from service users and residents, a need to better understand Dental services for both Children and Adults living in Thurrock was identified in Autumn 2018.

Healthwatch Thurrock reached out to survivors of sexual abuse to make sure their experiences helped inform the future approach of local services.

Through anecdotal discussion from service users and residents, a need to better understand services supporting Mental Health Services in Thurrock were identified in early 2018.

As we look forward to 2018/19 our operational plans will be to increase our ambassadors in more areas building on the successes of the past year and become even more integrated in the community that we represent.

2016/17 has been another busy but successful year for Healthwatch Thurrock. Although only a small team the support we get from our overarching organisation Thurrock CVS has allowed us to expand.

The views and comments Healthwatch Thurrock has gathered over the previous 12 months about what is important in regard to Health Services.

Healthwatch Thurrock undertook a piece of work and carried out a survey on the blood testing services at Orsett and Basildon Hospitals.
